I wanted to create something that carried the layered, ornamented spirit I love in North African tribal jewellery — but interpreted through my own vocabulary.
So I built three strands of smooth Lapis Lazuli around a collection of silver coin and disc elements, allowing them to sit loosely along the neckline rather than arranging everything too perfectly.
Then comes the unexpected change.
Faceted cuboid Fluorites take over towards the back — translucent greens, smoky blues and muted violets — punctuated with small touches of Lapis and green stones.
The contrast was intentional.
Dense and deeply blue in front.
Lighter, translucent and irregular towards the back.
